Printing maps
Printing maps
It’s easy to produce electronic ‘PDF’s to share maps and if you’ve access to a colour printer then you can print your own maps. All of the web-based tools below can be used for free, by anyone. A few other navigation apps/platforms provide good print tools but may require you to be a subscribed user (eg ‘OS Maps’).
Nakarte.me printing
Perhaps the most powerful free online printing tool. Easy to use and OS mapping is included. Multiple pages at different sizes (A1, A2, A3, A4, A5) may be printed at once.
GaiaGPS printing
A really simple to use printing tool. It will print the OSM-based ‘Gaia Topo (ft)’ mapping for any free registered user to A4, A3 & A2 paper sizes.
Plotaroute printing
This has a good printing tool. OSM topo mapping can be printed by any free registered user to A4 size. OS maps are available with a subscription.
Web browser printing
Maps can sometimes be successfully printed straight from a browser window by tweaking regular print options. The WalkLakes Waymaps provide excellent prints for the UK.
